Originally from the Chicago area, bassist John Mesoloras, moved to Wisconsin in 1993 to pursue a music degree at UW-Whitewater. As a student there he was a founding member of the UWW-Jazz Symposium, and had the opportunity to perform at the Montreaux and North Sea Jazz Festivals. He is currently pursuing a Masters degree in Music Performance at the UW.
By day he is the director of orchestras at Mount Horeb Middle, and High Schools. By night he's a gigging bassist, working with local jazz groups such as Gerri DiMaggio, Joe Scalissi, and the Madison Jazz Orchestra, in addition to Vibe Syndicate.
